4th Remedies Cluster Meeting “(Micro)plastics: How to Prepare for Tomorrow,” will be organized by the National Institute of Chemistry and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Slovenia during Science Month. This event serves as a platform for critical discussions surrounding the challenges posed by (micro)plastics and the strategies needed to address them effectively.

The event will feature a line-up of prestigious speakers and expert panelists who will delve into the future frameworks designed to tackle the pervasive issue of (micro)plastics. These discussions will encompass a range of topics, including the significant role of the REACH legislation in regulating chemical safety within the EU. Attendees will gain insights into the recent ban on intentionally added microplastics, largely influenced by grassroots movements.

Marko Petelin from Infordata Sistemi will participate as a speaker with the following presentation: “Mission Ocean and Waters in Slovenia: Citizen Science, Solutions, and Impact – Digital Solutions and Artificial Intelligence.”

The event will also provide insights on the upcoming negotiations for the Global Plastic Treaty, scheduled to take place in Busan at the end of November, an initiative aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the fight against plastic pollution.

In-person participation requires registration via an online form, and the event will be streamed live on YouTube.
