On October 8-9, 2024, two representatives from Infordata Sistemi attended the 5th partner meeting of the ReBuilt project, held in Munich, Germany.

Day 1 focused on the implementation of project activities, raising awareness of circular and digital construction practices across diverse target groups, and advancing efforts to upgrade, develop, and test innovative pilot solutions. The discussions centered on new technical and digital measures aimed at driving sustainability within the construction sector.

Day 2 included a tour showcasing best practices, with two key visits:

  • Recycling Plant:
We observed how construction waste is transformed into reusable building materials, gaining insight into the entire waste management process—from selective demolition at construction sites to sorting, shredding, and screening. Each step is designed to produce recycled aggregate, which can be repurposed for concrete and road construction. This hands-on experience demonstrated how sustainable practices can be effectively integrated into the construction industry, showing the potential for recycled demolition material to reduce environmental impact and contribute to a greener future.
  • Pilot Project at Campus Ost:
We visited a pilot project led by our partner, the University of Applied Sciences Munich, at the future school and sports campus in Munich. Here, we explored the production of concrete made entirely from 100% recycled aggregates, intended for use in various structural components such as foundations, walls, and ceilings. The challenge was to develop recycled concrete with properties equivalent to conventional concrete. This innovation reduces waste, conserves natural resources, lowers CO2 emissions, and supports circular construction practices. The visit provided an inspiring example of how sustainable construction can be realized through recycling and the importance of reusing construction waste in the process.

All 14 partners of the ReBuilt project agree that adopting circular and digital approaches is essential to minimizing the environmental impact of the construction sector
