Vienna, May 27, 2025 – During the General Assembly of the Interreg Rebuilt project, held on May 26–27 in Vienna, INFORDATA unveiled the latest developments implemented in the project’s Web Portal. These enhancements focus on streamlining the management of the Digital Product Passport (DPP), generating BIM files/objects for CAD applications, and integrating the portal with the CinderOSS Marketplace — critical components to support the circular economy in the construction sector.

These new functionalities are part of the ongoing work within Work Package 2.3, titled “Digitalisation of Circular Value Chains”, one of the project’s core pillars. This work package aims to build digital infrastructure that promotes sustainability, traceability, and resource efficiency across the construction value chain.
A Strategic Digital Shift for Circular Construction
The Rebuilt Digital Platform enables the management of construction materials across their lifecycle — from waste disposal to product reuse. Through a structured workflow, waste materials are tagged, classified, and transformed into new products, which are then assigned digital passports for traceability and published on digital marketplaces like CinderOSS. This process supports data transparency, regulatory compliance, and circular business models in the construction industry.
Rebuilt Digital Platform Workflow
- Waste Disposal – The process begins with the disposal of construction waste.
- Characterization – Materials are tagged and cataloged using RFID technology.
- Classification – Waste is sorted and classified as secondary raw material.
- New Products – Reusable materials are processed into new construction products.
- Digital Product Passport (DPP) – New products are assigned a digital passport for traceability and compliance.
- Marketplace Publication – Products are published on digital marketplaces like CinderOSS for reuse.

Key Milestones and Integration Highlights
Key milestones already achieved in WP 2.3 include:
- Definition of Gaia-X specifications
- Database schema design (EER)
- Development of digital tools and web platform architecture
- Management of the Digital Product Passport (DPP)
- Generating BIM files/objects for CAD applications
- Integrating the portal with the CinderOSS Marketplace
In 2025, the focus will be on finalizing the connection between the Web Portal, Gaia-X, and the CinderOSS Marketplace (https://cindeross.cinderela.eu/). This integration will allow products enriched with Digital Product Passport data and supporting documentation—such as technical standards, regulatory references, and business models—to be published seamlessly on the marketplace.
Supporting Interoperability and Trusted Data Exchange
INFORDATA, along with Rebuilt partners, is working to ensure that the platform supports trusted data sharing and improved BIM compatibility. The inclusion of Gaia-X standards helps guarantee data transparency, interoperability, and user trust.
As development continues through 2026, focus areas will include comprehensive data collection, system testing, and deployment of robust reporting tools. These efforts aim to deliver a fully functional and interoperable digital ecosystem for circular construction by project end.
