We’re excited to announce that the Beta version of the Karst Firewall 5.0 web platform, developed by Infordata, is now ready for testing!
The platform leverages AI and Copernicus EU satellite services to predict wildfire risk and potential spread, supporting early prevention and management of forest fires across the Italian and Slovenian Karst regions.

Over the past months, we’ve made significant progress:
- Live integration with meteorological data from ARPA FVG and ARSO is now complete, including an automated data retrieval system.
- 20 years of historical wildfire and weather data have been imported to train a new Machine Learning model for more accurate forecasting.
- Interactive analytical tools and visualizations (such as graphs) have been developed to provide users with insights into weather patterns that influence wildfire risks.
- A web-based notification tool is now embedded in the platform, capable of calculating wildfire risk indices using advanced parameters.
- A catalog of fire prevention and response technologies is also available as part of the platform’s resources.

Our technical partners within the Karst Firewall 5.0 project, ZRC SAZU and IUAV, are actively collaborating on refining the wildfire risk index model.
🎯 The official release is coming in April 2025 – stay tuned!
