Ecomondo is the international trade fair dedicated to the ecological transition, held annually in Rimini. It brings together companies, experts, institutions, and innovators in the fields of the green and circular economy, promoting technologies and strategies for sustainable development.
The fair offers exhibitions, conferences, and programs focused on waste management, renewable energy, environmental regeneration, and much more, supporting the objectives of European environmental policy.
On November 6, 2024, Ecomondo hosted a session dedicated to the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters, bringing together experts and companies from the Mediterranean region to promote innovative solutions and social engagement.
At the event titled Boosting Technology, Business Models, and Societal Engagement for the Implementation of the EU Mission: Restore Our Ocean and Waters in the Mediterranean, the project partners presented the general objectives of the REMEDIES project and the technologies for monitoring macro and microplastics. We also showcased the “Drone Technology with AI Plastic Litter Identification developed by MOH University from Morocco. Infordata has started integrating this technology into the REMEDIES portal.
For the INSPIRE project, we focused on the demonstration site “Po della Donzella,” where we will install video cameras for detecting floating litter. We will also implement the “River Cleaning” technology by Mold Srl, which acts as a barrier to collect floating litter. Infordata will install sensors for advanced monitoring of the technology and environmental parameters at this site.
