INSPIRE is launching a series of scientific webinars to inform and engage the INSPIRE community. Join us for the first session, “INSPIRE – From Observation to Modelling,” on October 28, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM CET.

This webinar will focus on the ongoing work in monitoring plastic and other litter in European rivers and their transport to the coast. We will showcase our techniques for sampling and observing riverine litter, such as using the Ferrybox system, Manta nets for microplastics, apps developped by Infordata, drones, and cameras for tracking macrolitter in water and along riverbanks.

Additionally, we will introduce our modelling framework, which analyzes pollution data to establish baseline levels and identify optimal locations for interventions to reduce river pollution. This model will also help evaluate the effectiveness of these solutions over time.

Join us to learn how INSPIRE is advancing research on riverine plastic pollution and its removal.
