From March 12 to 14, representatives from Infordata participated in a series of meetings with other partners of the ReBuilt project, organized by the lead partner ZAG (Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute) in Ljubljana. These events included the 3rd coordination meeting of the Interreg Central Europe ReBuilt project and the 1st Transnational Central European Circular and Digital Construction Conference, both held at ZAG’s headquarters.
The conference, organized as part of the Interreg Central Europe ReBuilt project, showcased innovative practices in circular construction and cutting-edge digital tools. Key presentations focused on solutions such as the Digital Product Passport, Digital Construction Logs, and Circular Construction Platforms. These initiatives demonstrated the progress being made in creating a robust innovation ecosystem, driven by collaboration between companies, research institutions, academic organizations, and local, regional, and national communities.
Example of good practice
As an example of best practices in circular construction, the ReBuilt partners participated in an expert excursion to the Nigrad Construction Waste Reuse Centre in Maribor, Slovenia. Here, attendees were shown the entire process of transforming recycled concrete into building materials for new structures. The Dogoše site, part of Nigrad, was originally constructed in 2020 under the Horizon 2020 Cinderela project, where a house was built using secondary raw materials, primarily recycled concrete blocks. In addition to the house, a road made of secondary raw materials, an embankment constructed from recycled asphalt, and other innovative projects were completed. The Dogoše site continues to evolve as part of the Life IP Restart project, which includes the creation of a material bank — a repository for public property that has been used by the City of Maribor and will be reused in future projects. The site is also home to a land investment bank, which aims to support both municipal projects and the wider community of Maribor. Further development is planned through the ReBuilt project, which will involve testing new materials such as panels made of hempcrete, an eco-friendly building material made from hemp.
